Plaza de Toros Oriente, Tucked away on a beautiful residential street is San Miguel’s own bull fighting ring. The matadors are usually strutting their stuff in the winter and during important festivals. Look for posters around town, if you think you can stand the blood.

Sanmiguelada, San Miguel’s version of Pamplona’s running of the bulls takes place at the end of September. The well-barricaded route takes the bulls in a circle around El Centro. The bulls are dangerously feisty at the beginning then exhausted after a few hours of being taunted by celebrants emboldened by beer.
